Covid-19: Coordinated support for the parish
The Parish Council continues to work closely with various groups and organisations to support those in need across the parish. We are working with volunteers in our 4 main settlements of Blackham, Groombridge, St John’s Crowborough and Withyham. If you need assistance, please contact us and we will connect you.
If you, or someone you know, needs help –
Wealden District Council has set up a Covid-19 Community Hub for vulnerable people who need support to allow them to stay at home. Please register by calling 01323 443322 or registering online https://www.wealden.gov.uk/news-and-events/coronavirus-covid-19-latest/community-support.
Wealden has produced a helpful guide outlining a range of issues people may be encountering and how to obtain assistance which can be found here.
If you need help and are unsure who to speak to, Withyham Parish Council is here to help.
If you are unable to access the above support or are concerned, or wish to speak with us on any other matter, please do contact us.
Please ensure that you are following the current rules set out by the government.
The Parish Council is aware that these are difficult times for many and have therefore made changes to the following in order to protect both staff and residents wherever possible.
In accordance with The Local Authorities and Police and Crime Panel (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority and Police and Crime Panel Meetings) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020, Withyham Parish Council will be holding Council and Planning meetings by remote access for the foreseeable future.
Details of how members of the public can view and/or contribute to meetings are on the meeting agendas. For members of the public wishing to view meetings or to address the Council, they should email their question/comment and a telephone number to the Clerk by the morning of the meeting.
We have re-opened the office for visitors at The Old Station Groombridge under COVID-19 secure guidelines. Mon 12-3, Tues-Wed 9.30-12 and Thurs 9.30-2 (closed Wed in school holidays).
Playgrounds within the Parish also remain closed until further notice following risk assessments taking into account Gov.UK guidelines and our insurers’ guidance.
