Community Cafes
Once a month on a Saturday from 10-noon at Groombridge Village Hall, the Community Café, set up by Withyham Parish Council, is a monthly opportunity for residents to meet up over a cup of tea or coffee and delicious home-made cakes. Old friends and neighbours meet up on a regular basis, and new friends have been made.
The dates for 2023 are 21st January, 25th February, 25th March, 22nd April, 20th May, 24th June, 22nd July, 23rd September, 21st October ** Cancelled**, 25th November and 9th December.
These dates coincide with our monthly Amblers walks and we always make sure that there is time to pop into the café after a parish walk.
The Community Café is hosted by local clubs and societies who each bring their own special personality, as well as the people power, the cakes/biscuits and any extras such as table decorations. We provide the coffee, tea, sugar, tablecloths, coffee makers, hall booking and any guidance.
From the takings we ask that the room hire charge is covered, and a small contribution is made for restocking. Any profit a group makes is either given to charity or to the group’s own funds to help with its running.
We are always taking future bookings for Groups wishing to run the Cafés, please contact Stephanie by email or phone 01892 864557 if you are interested.
We really look forward to seeing you at our next Café.
